Tane Mahuta
Pictured is the giant Kauri tree "Tane Mahuta",located on the Kauri Coast Northland NewZealand.It is trees like this that are found in the swamps of Northland and are used by crafts people to make various products unique to this area.The timber ,when carbon dated has proved to be up to 36,000 years old.This is the wood that Paul uses as inlay in his bone carvings. |
